Mike Vrabel commented on the trade deadline report that Tennessee Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk might have been unwilling to make deals with the New England Patriots.
According to the Boston Sports Journal’s Mike Giardi, Strunk was “not inclined to help Vrabel’s new team” because of how things ended with him in Tennessee. Vrabel coached for the Titans from 2018-2023 before he was ultimately fired by the team. During his run, he took the team to the AFC Championship Game in the 2019 season and won Coach of the Year in 2021.
He was fired after there were reportedly differences in philosophies with ownership.
“I haven’t talked to Amy since the day she fired me,” Vrabel said on The Greg Hill Show. “So, her name and my name should not be in the same sentence together ‘cause I haven’t talked to her since the day she fired me.”
The Titans hired Brian Callahan as Vrabel’s replacement, and they recently fired him in the middle of the 2025 season. Meanwhile, Vrabel’s Patriots are currently tied for the best record in the AFC with an 8-2 record.
Tennessee’s loss was definitely New England’s gain.
