On Saturday, March 1, CB Marbella will pay tribute to one of Spain’s most celebrated basketball figures, Carlos Cabezas, in a special event at the Pabellón Carlos Cabezas. The occasion will feature an exciting match between CB Marbella and Colegio El Pinar, followed by the recognition of Cabezas’ remarkable career.
Carlos Cabezas, born in Malaga, was a key player in Spain’s 2006 World Championship victory. Now 44, Cabezas played professional basketball until 2021, his last club being in Montevideo, Uruguay. He left an indelible mark on both the ACB league and international basketball.
His deep connection to Marbella and Costa del Sol makes this tribute even more meaningful, as local authorities, sponsors and sports figures gather to honor his achievements. The event will take place at 5:20 PM, and it will be free for the public to attend, with parking also provided at no cost.
This remarkable event provides a fantastic opportunity for the Marbella community, families with children and basketball fans to come together to celebrate sport and honour one of Spain’s legends.
