Balearic islands welcome imserso tourists to boost off-season tourism
Approximately 100,000 Imserso travellers are set to visit the Balearic Islands between February and April 2025, providing a boost to off-season tourism.
Imserso Tourism Boosts Local Economy
Balearic tourism is set to receive a major boost as approximately 100,000 Imserso travellers arrive between February and April 2025. According to ABACTUR, the regional association of tourism activities, February will see 37,000 visitors, March 40,000, and April 20,000. Mallorca will welcome 80% of these tourists, while Ibiza and Menorca will host around 15,000 and 10,000 respectively.
This influx of off-season visitors provides essential support for the local hospitality sector, ensuring that hotels, restaurants, and tour operators remain operational during quieter months. Rafael Durán, president of ABACTUR, emphasised the programme’s critical role in maintaining employment, supporting the local economy, and contributing to overall economic stability across the islands.
Although Imserso tourism generally slows during autumn and winter, it experiences a resurgence in early spring. By May, as peak season begins, mainstream tourism takes over, allowing businesses to adjust pricing strategies, optimise services, and maximise revenue throughout the summer months, strengthening the region’s economic resilience
