Its CSX Transportation subsidiary operates a 20,000-mile rail network in the eastern U.S., connecting 26 states, the District of Columbia, and two Canadian provinces. CSX Intermodal Inc. is a stand-alone integrated intermodal company serving customers with its own truck and terminal operations and a dedicated domestic container fleet. Based in Jacksonville, FL, the company employs approximately 23,400 people. The shares are a component of the S&P 500.
