During the month of May, movie lovers of all ages can enjoy free cinema thanks to the Guardamar del Segura town hall.
The Guardamar del Segura town hall has announced a film programme open to the public, with films ranging from family comedy, documentaries, romance and dramas.
The first of these showings will take place on Monday May 12 at 6pm, in the municipal public library. The film shown on this first day of the month-long cycle will be Benvenuti al Sud, or Welcome to the South, a 2010 Italian comedy about rural life and family.
The Monday after that, May 19, at the same time and place, movie-lovers can enjoy The Chef, a 2014 drama-comedy directed by Jon Favreau (of Elf and Zathura fame).
On Friday May 23, this time at the Casa de la Cultura at 7pm, Retour à Reims will be shown. This documentary focuses on French society and the evolution of working conditions in the last century. Not suitable for children under 12, the film will be shown with Spanish subtitles in its original French. After the weekend, on Monday May 26, the library will once again host a showing at 6pm with 20 Años No Importan, a French romcom about an unconventional pair.
And to finish off a month of free cinema, the Casa de la Cultura will host cult classic Paris, Texas on Friday, May 30 at 7pm. The 1984 film directed by Wim Wenders has received universal praise and it is considered one of the best films of the 1980s. This showing will also feature subtitles and invitations are available in the Agenda Guardamar website.
