Masih’s win gave Okemos a sweep of the state’s individual Division 1 golf champions this school year. Okemos senior Alena Li finished as the girls champion in the fall en route to being named the state’s Miss Golf winner.
Division 3 at Grand Valley’s The Meadows
Lansing Catholic had the best finish in the area, placing 15th with its two-day score of 694. Senior Hayden Riley finished 31st and shot a 163 for the weekend while leading the Cougars.
Lakewood was 17th in the team standings with a score of 706 and Leslie followed by taking 18th with a total of 735.
Senior Cole Thrun had the best finish for Lakewood and placed 66th after shooting a 172 for the weekend. Leslie was led by senior Drake Mays, who shot a 176 and placed 76th.
Division 2 at Bedford Valley
St. Johns improved its score by seven strokes from the opening round to earn a 16th-place finish at the state finals. Junior Elijah Schultz led the Redwings, taking 37th individually with his two-day total of 157.
Mason’s Zach Wells finished tied for 62nd and had a score of 164. He had a five-stroke improvement on June 7 with his second-round score of 79.
Division 4 at Ferris State’ Katke Course
Lansing Christian capped its season with a 14th-place finish at the state finals. The Pilgrims shot a 369 June 7 while finishing with a two-day score of 713. Sophomore Maddox Mosley led the scorers for the weekend for Lansing Christian with a score of 173, which was good for 47th place.
Portland St. Patrick’s Landon Simpson qualified as an individual and finished 58th after shooting a 177.
