Last week in Frigiliana, the Asociación Con.ciencia, together with Óleo Frigiliana, brought an emotional and thought-provoking event to the community as part of their ongoing effort to raise awareness about child sexual abuse.
The short film Secretos de Familia (Family Secrets), which has been selected by both the Festival de Malaga and an acclaimed Swedish film festival named Kinematora, served as the centrepiece of the evening.
The artistic quality of the 11-minute movie, its emotional depth, and social message have drawn praise across audiences.
The screening was followed by a reflective workshop led by two psychologists who specialise in childhood trauma. Participants engaged in a meaningful discussion aimed at understanding the issue, breaking the stigma, and encouraging open conversations.
This initiative is part of the Romper el Silencio (Breaking the Silence) project, which focuses on prevention, education, and community involvement to tackle the hidden crisis of child sexual abuse.
Through art and open dialogue, the Asociación Con.ciencia is trying to show the world how to take bold steps toward protecting its youngest and most vulnerable.
