The 2026 NFL Draft will take place in Pittsburgh next April, a city where the Bucs found success this preseason with a last-second field goal to defeat the Steelers. Before next April, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup for the team and who they may add to the roster through the draft.
CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson recently released the latest 2026 NFL mock draft of the cycle. Within it, the Bucs were attached to someone on offense, and not someone in the trenches for once. Wilson gave the Bucs the playmaking tight end out of Oregon, Kenyon Sadiq.
Wilson explains the pick, writing, “Sadiq oozes athleticism, will run through arm tackles and is used all over the formation. He can be a quick-game target as an outside WR and is used effectively on jet sweeps. He’s also one of the best blocking TEs in college football who’s an asset on special teams, too. He reminds me of Kadarius Toney in the quick game and Anquan Boldin in space with the ball in his hands.”
Cade Otton is playing on the final year of his contract, and to his credit, is coming off his most productive game of the year in terms of production.
The Bucs’ offensive line issues have caused them to use Otton more for blocking assignments than receiving ones in 2025, and he has done well doing so. That being said, he has not shown himself to be a playmaker in the same way that Sadiq has the potential to be. Having a gamebreaker at tight end with all those weapons on the outside at wide receiver is a game-changer for Tampa Bay.
