The 2024-25 season is in the books for the Philadelphia 76ers, which means it is the time to look back on the season that was for each player. The Sixers finished 24-58 as they missed the playoffs for the first time since the 2016-17 season amid a slew of injuries.
The Sixers used a grand total of 30 players throughout the season and an NBA record 53 starting lineups. This series will focus on the 15 players on standard deals and the three on two-way deals to finish the season–not anybody who finished the season on a 10-day deal.
Up next in this series is reliable veteran Kelly Oubre Jr. The forward out of Kansas finished up his 10th season in the league by playing in 60 games and doing all of the little things on the floor to try and help the Sixers win games while being a reliable voice in the locker room.
Here is an overview and final grade for Oubre in the 2024-25 season:

Oubre’s season overview
The Sixers were able to count on Oubre on a nightly basis as he continued to grow in coach Nick Nurse’s scheme and system. Once he found his niche, he flourished. There were a handful of games when the team was fully healthy when he made a difference. In those rare instances, Oubre was able to step in and play a key role such as crashing the glass for much-needed rebounds or knock down 3s when he was open. While the overall 3-point percentage wasn’t good, he did seem to make them when it counted to give Philadelphia a glimpse of what could be when healthy on the floor.
Oubre’s highlights
Oubre had higher scoring games, but his best overall game in a Jan. 24 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers when he went for 22 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, and three steals. He shot 8-for-16 from the floor taking every defender the Cavs threw at him off the dribble and was able to finish at the basket with ease and he was 5-for-5 from the line.
Final grade
Overall, Oubre did what he was supposed to do. The Sixers have been asking him to step in and just play a role and he did that to perfection in 2024-25. It’s a shame that the Sixers weren’t able to have a healthy season because the potential to be contenders was there, but it just wasn’t meant to be. Either way, Oubre is a key piece of this Philadelphia team and one has to believe he will exercise his player option to return in 2025-26.
Final grade: B-plus
