Ja Morant’s antics might be hilarious to watch for the rest of us, but they’re also apparently pretty costly.
Mere hours after being warned by the NBA about doing a finger gun celebration during a game, Morant pulled out the exact same celebration during the Grizzlies’ game against the Heat on Thursday night. He didn’t even think twice about it.
He managed to avoid a suspension, which some people have called for. But he won’t be able to avoid a fine. The league is fining Morant $75,000 because of his celebration, according to the latest from ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Is this going to stop the finger guns? Probably not. What’s $75,000 to a guy who makes nearly $40 million a year? I just hope it’s worth it.
