The Raquel Payà Solidarity March celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2025, stronger and more enthusiastic than ever.
On 18th May, the streets of Dénia will once again be filled with colour, sport, and solidarity for a very special edition in aid of the CEE Raquel Payà.
For a decade, this march has become one of the most beloved charitable events in the region, involving families, educational centres, associations, and local businesses in a day where the only goal of the event is: to support the Raquel Payà special education centre.
Registrations for runners and walkers are now open at the following link. You can also sign up in person at the offices on Plaza Tenor Cortis, 2 bajo (Dénia) starting from 22nd April, from 9 am to 5 pm, except Wednesdays, and until 16th May!
The event is not just a sporting one. The march is an opportunity to raise awareness about inclusion and highlight the work carried out at the CEE Raquel Payà. The funds raised will be used to improve the facilities, materials, and projects of the centre, providing a direct boost to the quality of life of its students.
In its tenth edition, and as in previous years, the event will offer two categories: a walk of approximately 3 km, designed for those who prefer to participate at a gentle pace, and a competitive race of about 6 km, consisting of completing two laps of the same circuit.
Participation is open to everyone: both adults and children, walkers and runners, with one essential requirement: come ready to share and contribute to a good cause.
This event not only raises awareness of the work of the CEE Raquel Payà, but also demonstrates the power of the towns and neighbours of the Marina Alta when they unite for a just cause.
For 18 years, the educational community of the Raquel Payà special education school has been calling for the construction of a new centre. The current building, built in the 1980s, is plagued with architectural barriers, is outdated, and is cramped.
Raquel Payà is a reference in its field. It has won the European award for innovative teaching. But it is essential to now have modern and dignified facilities.
