He may be nearly 60, but Mike Tyson still packs a punch – and his workout regime proves it. Read on to find out what the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ does to stay fit in 2025!
Once the most feared man in boxing, ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson was known for his explosive power and ruthless fighting style. At his peak, he trained a staggering 50 to 60 hours a week – including a daily routine of 2,500 sit-ups, 2,000 squats, 500 pushups, 500 bench dips, 500 barbell shrugs. He also pretty much lived on pasta, steak, and orange juice – maintaining a physique that sent shivers down opponents’ spines.
Now 58, most would expect the former world heavyweight champion to be putting his feet up – but not Tyson. Speaking to Men’s Journal, the boxing legend revealed he’s still grinding it out every morning.
“I’ll still do 200 reps a day – shoulders, abs, sit-ups – usually every morning,” Tyson told Men’s Journal.
It’s not quite the full-throttle regime of his younger days, but it’s still more than most men half his age could manage.
And when Ramadan rolled around, the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ adapted his training yet again:
“I try to train very little when the sun is up, so I’m weak right now. It’s very hard to train but I’m doing a little, putting some reps in,” he said.
Behind the muscle is a man using exercise to keep his mind in check. Tyson has been open about the challenges he’s faced post-boxing. Like many athletes, stepping away from the sport that defined him wasn’t easy. But working out, he says, helps maintain his mental health – a knockout coping strategy.
Stay strong, and stay healthy.
