
There was something of a mystery as the Danish Royal Family returned from their holiday in Tasmania but without King Frederik whose whereabouts were initially unknown.
It was recognised that King Frederik X had taken off on a personal journey but apart from confirming his absence, the Danish Royal Household didn’t reveal where he was going or why.
Once again Crown Prince Christian assumed the role of regent which has become a regular duty for the 19-year-old who is next in line of succession to the Danish throne.

A few days after the ‘disappearance’ of the king, it emerged that he had flown to Switzerland to attend the Biathlon World Championships, even though Denmark did not have any success or win any medals.
Now back in Denmark, King Frederik has resumed his normal royal duties but there is still some speculation concerning the fact that he travelled to Switzerland without leaving any explanation.
Danish King Frederik now back and getting ready to undertake State Visits
He is now getting ready for a number of State visits in March which will see both him and Queen Mary travel to Finland and France before the king travels alone to Japan in April.
Although Prince Christian has joined the Danish armed forces as part of a four month conscription duty, it is expected that he will also return to the role of Regent during his father’s absence overseas.
Both Frederik and Mary attended a special church ceremony in Copenhagen to recognise the third anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
