The 2025-26 NFL MVP race has generally been a two-player race between Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes this season — and Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson entered the season as the MVP favorite at sportsbooks.
It’s time to add a couple more names to the potential MVP ballot.

After leading the New England Patriots to a seventh straight victory in a 28-23 win over the Tampa Buccaneers (as 2.5-point underdogs), QB Drake Maye briefly took over atop the odds board to win NFL MVP on Sunday afternoon at BetMGM. Maye threw for 270 yards and two TDs, but also tossed a bad interception in Tampa Bay’s end zone in the fourth quarter.

Shortly after New England’s victory, the Los Angeles Rams dominated the injury-riddled San Francisco 49ers in a 42-26 win, building a 21-0 first-half lead and pulling away in the second half. Rams QB Matthew Stafford threw for 280 yards and four TDs, while only taking one sack. That was good for a QBR of 84.9, his best performance of the season by that metric. It was also Stafford’s third straight game with at least four touchdown passes.

As a result, it was Stafford who vaulted to the top of the MVP odds board at BetMGM at +275 odds on Sunday evening, just ahead of Maye (+300), which is where the odds stood on Monday morning. Other sportsbooks have Maye as a slight favorite or the two players as co-favorites, but they are the two players with the best odds heading into Week 12.
Mahomes (+500), Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (+550) and Allen (+650) have the next-best odds to win MVP at BetMGM. Seattle Seahawks QB Sam Darnold (10-1) is the only other player with odds of 10-1 or better to win the award.
The Patriots play again on Thursday night as a 12.5-point home favorite against the New York Jets in Week 11, while the Rams (-2.5) host the red-hot Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
