The 2025 NFL scouting combine is wrapping up — the offensive linemen’s workouts will conclude the event on Sunday — and the 2025 NFL Draft season is in full swing.
The league invited 329 players to Indianapolis for the annual event, where players worked out, teams got to interview them and coaches and front-office personnel from around the league addressed the media with the final recaps of the 2024 season and started looking ahead to 2025.
Among the highlights from this week’s combine:
-
Texas WR Isaiah Bond couldn’t back up his big boast about breaking the 40-yard dash record.
-
Did the hands of Alabama QB Jalen Milroe actually grow in a month?
-
Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders stated his case for being the No. 1 pick.
The Tennessee Titans have the No. 1 pick in this year’s draft. The last time they picked first was in 1978, when they — then the Houston Oilers — selected Heisman Trophy-winning running back and eventual Pro Football Hall of Famer Earl Campbell. This season’s Heisman winner, Travis Hunter, was in Indianapolis. The two-way superstar is listed as a cornerback.
The top running back in this class didn’t work out, with Ashton Jeanty making that decision at the beginning of the week.

Jets reportedly taking calls on Davante Adams, Cowboys plan to franchise tag DT Osa Odighizuwa
In a bit of non-combine news, two of the league’s beleaguered teams are reportedly considering big swings. With the New York Jets and Aaron Rodgers parting ways, the Jets are reportedly looking to move on from Rodgers’ favorite throwing partner, wide receiver Davante Adams. New York has reportedly begun taking calls on Adams, who carried a $38.2 million cap hit next season, with the hope of trading him before the league year begins. If the Jets aren’t able to trade Adams, then they will reportedly release him.
Sources: The #Jets are now taking calls on star WR Davante Adams, open to trading him prior to the start of the league year. No surprise with his $38.2M cap number.
If they can’t get a deal, they are expected to release Adams, who could rejoin QB Aaron Rodgers with a new team. pic.twitter.com/EjvMh2zF1J

Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys are trying to reach a long-term contract with defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa. If the two sides don’t reach a deal, the Cowboys reportedly plan to franchise tag Odighizuwa, giving him a one-year contract worth $25.1 million.
Sources; The #Cowboys plan to utilize the franchise tag on defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa if a long-term deal is not reached by Tuesday. No final decision but that is the current expectation.

How did Jalen Milroe’s hand size grow so much the last month?
Jalen Milroe’s hand size is a half-inch bigger at the NFL combine than at the Senior Bowl. At least that’s what the measurements say.
If it’s NFL scouting combine season, it’s also time to talk about hand size with quarterback prospects. And Milroe’s hands appear to have grown during the past month. By 5/8 inches, to be precise.
Milroe’s hands were measured at 8 3/4 inches at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama 28 days ago. At the combine, his hands were approximately a half-inch longer, measured at 9 3/8 inches. That’s good news for Milroe and any NFL teams interested in him because the acceptable threshold for a QB’s hands is considered to be nine inches.
Will this help him rise higher than QB4?
And what happened next? Well at the combine they say, Jalen Milroe’s hand size grew more than half an inch that day. (Photo by Zach Bolinger/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images) -
