Los Alcázares is gearing up to welcome back the exciting Splash-IN hydroplane festival from May 2 to May 4. This event will bring together pilots from around the world for aerial displays, exciting competitions, and a deep dive into the history of seaplanes in Spain.
A two-location event
The festival kicks off in Pollença, Mallorca, from April 30 to May 2. Pilots will show off their skills over the waters of Mallorca before making their way to Los Alcázares on May 2 for the main event. This second phase of the festival will offer even more aerial displays and a chance for spectators to see these incredible aircraft up close.
International participation and impressive displays
So far, six seaplanes are confirmed, with three coming from Spain and others arriving from Italy, Switzerland, and Germany. More aircraft are expected to join as the event approaches. In addition to private pilots, the Spanish Air Force will participate with firefighting seaplanes, demonstrating their critical role in wildfire prevention and emergency response.
Two larger planes, the Donisilestar, and the Tuaila Note, will also take part, performing impressive aerial maneuvers that are sure to entertain aviation fans and spectators.
A festival for everyone
Mayor Mario Pérez Cervera highlighted that Splash-IN 2025 is not just for aviation fans but for the entire community. ‘Splash-IN isn’t just for aviation fans, it’s a great way for everyone to see these incredible planes in action and learn about their deep ties to Los Alcázares,’ he said. Families, tourists, and locals will all have the opportunity to witness these aircraft in flight and explore their history.
The Schneider ‘SIGLO XXI’ Cup: A true test of skill
One of the festival’s key highlights is the Schneider ‘SIGLO XXI’ Cup, an exciting competition where pilots must navigate a challenging course without using GPS. Instead, they will rely on traditional navigation skills, showcasing the precision and expertise required to fly seaplanes.
Full event schedule coming soon
The complete event schedule, including timings for aerial displays, competitions, and interactive activities, will be released soon. Visitors can expect a weekend filled with action, history, and stunning views of seaplanes soaring over the waters of Los Alcázares. Stay tuned for more updates!
