Sunday night was a nightmare for Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The Los Angeles Chargers had Rodgers’ number all game long, and he ended up throwing for only 161 yards and throwing a pair of ugly interceptions. But after the game, not only did Rodgers minimize his impact on the outcome of the game, but he also came across as arrogant and self-important despite how poorly he played.
“I was just a little bit off,” Rodgers admitted. He did say he missed some throws but there was no way Rodgers was going to fall on his sword for the offense. He even went so far as to lump in the early struggles in the run game and issues with the receivers as if they had the same impact as literally the worst game of his career.
The Steelers signed Rodgers to a one-year contract late in the offseason to help give the passing offense a spark. That spark hasn’t come yet but despite some average numbers, Rodgers had done a good job taking care of the football. On Sunday night the wheels fell for Rodgers leading to his worst performance of the season.
